2 Year Old Funding

Some families are entitled to 15 or 30 hours of funded education for children to start with us the term following their 2nd birthday.  15 hour sessions are offered as 5 half day sessions - either 5 mornings (9:00am-midday) or 5 afternoons (12:45pm-3:45pm) Monday to Friday).  30 hour spaces are offered as 4 full days and a half day (9:00am-3:45pm Monday to Thursday and 9:00am-midday on Fridays).

Expanded 2-Year-Old Funding

Some working families are able to claim up to 30 hours a week of term time education for 2 year olds.  You can check eligibility and apply for a code on the government website https://www.gov.uk/check-eligible-free-childcare-if-youre-working

The HMRC code is valid for 3 months. HMRC will need you to reconfirm every 3 months (they will notify you normally by email a month in advance of your code renewal deadline). You will need to log back in to your HMRC Childcare Account, and go to ‘Secure Messages’ then 'Reconfirmation’.  Your code will not change, but your eligibility to date will extend a further 3 months. You will need to provide this code to us in order for us to reclaim the costs of your space.

Targeted 2-Year-Old Funding

Details of the local targeted 2-year-old funding offer are available here: https://servicesguide.reading.gov.uk/kb5/reading/directory/advice.page?id=24_JrgkoQLA .  Codes are issued by Brighter Futures for Children on behalf of Reading Borough Council.  To find out if your child is eligible, please click here to go to Reading Borough Council's Citizen Portal to complete the RBC on-line application.  You can complete this online application form 4 weeks before your child is 2 years old.

Self Funding

If you are not able to access a funded 2-year-old space, the cost of a 15 hour space for 2 year olds is £141 per week for a 15 hour space or £ 282 per week for a 30 hour space.
